Daddy did it...

If you ask Emma where an item is or what she did, she will blame Dad, mom or the cats.  I could not find the TV remote and when I asked her where it was, Emma replied, "Daddy took it"...D. was at work and clearly did not take it.  I nearly fell on the floor and busted a gut laughing at the shock of her blaming someone else.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Brownie Time

Emma has become quite the talker this month and become very direct/bossy in what she wants.  Examples:  "Daddy, sit down here."  Emma not only tells you where to sit, she will point or drag you to the location, should you choose not to comply with her demand.

There are some funny phrases she uses a lot now, "oh boy, oh boy, oh boy" and "there it is"...they don't seem that funny in writing, but the excitement in her voice is funny in her little girl voice.  "Oh boy..." is usually associated with treats, shopping and bath time.  Who knew going to the grocery shopping could be so exciting!

November has become a hide and seek month...Emma sometime hides by covering her eyes and she likes the chasing part of hide and seek once we find one another.  She is venturing into darker places of the house when we play this game, so that's a positive development that not every room we are in has to be lit up like a Christmas tree.

Speaking of lights...she can reach 50% of the light switches in our home.  I thought I was losing my mind, but found out she was turning them back on after I turned them off.  Look around your house...not all the light switches are the same height...I had no idea until Emma was able to reach them.  Now when I go into other houses, I'm obsessed with looking at the light switch heights.  So far, I haven't been in a house yet where all the light switches the same height.

Emma is growing like a weed and we've had to move up to 2T pants for the height and some shirts she is in a 3T because of her long waist.  I have to really inspect shirts because some are crazy short in length.  The pant waists are still loose in a 2T, so we have to stick with legging styles that fit a bit snugger.  They do not make kids belts in stores and I've had to get creative with a few pair of her jeans using ribbon.  I need to search on the Internet for no-sew belts or learn to sew because I have a feeling she is going to be battling the tiny waist problem her whole life.

We are getting really excited to buy her Christmas gifts this year since she is really into presents.  I have been pumping up the idea of Santa, in hopes to get Emma to sit on his lap this year and not be afraid.  I told her Santa is really nice like Pop-Pop Bob, she doesn't have to cry he is so nice, that she can ask for presents and that he wears glass just like her .  For three days, at the sigh of anything Christmas or if you ask her about Santa, she states, "Ho ho. nice. presents. sit on lap. no cry. glasses".  Just our luck we will get a Mall Santa that won't be wearing glasses!
