Correction

January 2006 is finished!

We are now 86 days away from our LID.

Two Days

It appears China is only covering 2 days this month, which means January 2006 is still not complete. The adoption community is in an uproar b/c these two days are very small and near to Chinese New Year, when very few applicants are taken in; while it is 2 days of progress, there are very few families logged in on these dates.

I guess we need to be happy that we were given any progress at all. China could have stopped referrals for August and September if they chose to b/c of the Olympics. I have never been so excited for the Olympics to begin AND finish. Technically the games do not finish until after the Special Olympics, on September 21st, so there are families out there who have had their travel delayed to pick up their children until October. That has to be a horrible feeling, knowing your child is sitting there for political reasons, 2 months longer than they should be!
