When Are You Going To China?

Swam in the ocean, ate ice cream and napped

Aloha!  We are back from Hawaii!  Getting to and from Hawaii was rough as Emma is a whole lot of loco on airplanes, but once there, she was fine. She is "that kid" that people dread being seated near; even Benadryl didn't help on the way home despite the flights being in-line with nap and bedtimes.  As I type, we have been awake for about 40+ hours now...we arrived home at 6:30am and there was no going to bed today other than her naptimes, but she held it together all day with minimal whining.

Emma loved the ocean and Hawaii in general!  We bought her a swim tube because in the pool she was kicking her feet and wanting to push around.  She got in the ocean and was kicking, laughing and trying to drink the saltwater in her "yellow submarine".  After swimming, sunning and eating ice cream, she was pooped out everyday.  We put 60+ sunscreen on her, but she still got a tan on us.  At night we would walk to/from dinner and Emma was fascinated by the sights and sounds of Waikiki, sitting upright in her stroller and leaning forward taking the city in.  She especially loved the ukulele players on the street and would stare, clap etc.  In fact, she loved this music so much, Doug now owns a ukulele and is going to learn how to play.

This was a great trip, but it definitely sealed the fate of other trips in the near future.  We won't be on another airplane anytime soon!
