1 year check-up

Yesterday was E's one year checkup...she has grown 2.50 inches since August 18th and gained a pound.  The Doc said if she wasn't so active, more weight would have shown up, but this mouse is on the move, non-stop, all day long.  She is now 30 inches tall, which puts her in the 85th percentile, but she is still on the skinny side, despite moving up to the 17th percentile in weight, but the weight is not a concern, she's just a tiny person like I was as a kid.  She received 5 vaccinations and a flu shot, so today is she running a temperature and a smidge unhappy, but nothing that tylenol isn't helping.  During yesterday's visit, while waiting in the exam room, I realized 2 more teeth have poked through on the bottom, so that is 7 teeth; almost halfway to the first 20 toofers toddlers develop.

After our exam, we traveled to visit Uncle Erik and Auntie Lisa to partake in some Skyline Chili, which she loves.  The kids meal includes a drink, which we never usually take because Emma can't drink from a straw yet, despite some good attempts.  We finally got a hang of the sippy cup this week, so we took the drink (water) yesterday to give the straw another try and voila! she used the straw!  The sippy cup training must have helped.

We had a full day yesterday...left the house at 9:45am for the Dr. and didn't return until 5:30pm, but Emma was a trooper and was a ball of kookiness and laughs, which was suprising considering how many shots were given.  Last night we attempted our first Chinese bufffet and Emma couldn't stop making smiling faces at the employees, staring at the paper lanterns and yelling "mama" or "dada" when Doug and I went to the buffet table.
