A Poem

We prayed for a child
With her daddy's eyes
Her mommy's smile
And legs that span miles

But God had another plan
He led us to a far off land
Where a daughter was born in our hearts
No more than a sea apart

In China she waits
Looking beyond the orphanage gate
At The Great Wall that stretches for miles
Wondering if she has her daddy's eyes and her mommy's smile
